Parknet alternative
Parknet or Lexoh for your parking project?
Compare Parknet and Lexoh for a new or replacement parking system in Canada. Review parking kiosks, access control, payment, operating software and local service against the same site requirements.

Why choose Lexoh?
Choose Lexoh for the combination of kiosks, Security Center, access and video, with a mesh network that keeps devices communicating offline. Local manufacturing alone is not a unique difference between these two suppliers.

Published positioning is not a verified feature test of every configuration. A requirement marked for confirmation is unknown until reviewed; it is not an assertion that a supplier lacks it.
Pros and cons for your project
Compare the advantages that matter to your site. Lexoh brings its kiosks, access controls, video and offline device communication together in one ecosystem.
Lexoh
Advantages
- Hardware and software together: Lexoh manufactures its kiosks and develops Security Center, connecting physical equipment with day-to-day operations.
- Hybrid architecture: cloud management and an offline mesh network keep local device communication separate from the internet connection.
- One operating view: sites, devices, users, events and transactions are managed within Security Center.
- Choice of credentials: combine RFID, UHF, QR, PIN and license plate recognition with the readers and cameras selected for the site.
- Video alongside access: operators can review a camera view and the associated device controls in the same environment.
- A broader site platform: parking, doors, gates and connected site equipment form part of the Lexoh ecosystem.
Trade-offs and project considerations
- Replacing another system requires an equipment and data migration review; existing terminals and accounts are not automatically interchangeable.
- Offline device communication does not by itself establish offline bank-card authorization or remote cloud access; those services depend on their own connections and configuration.
Parknet
Advantages
- Québec-manufactured parking terminals and gated or gateless solutions.
- Published equipment includes several credentials, payment configurations and an entry terminal with offline operation.
Trade-offs and project considerations
- The entry terminal’s offline specification does not define every payment or account function during an interruption.
Put local service commitments in writing
Two Canadian suppliers may have different responsibilities at the same address. Compare service contacts and hours, who may make remote changes, parts arrangements and on-site commitments. An advertised support schedule alone does not guarantee when a technician will arrive at your property.
- Separate answering a call from resolving it remotely or attending the site.
- State which equipment and software the agreement covers.
- Confirm charges and escalation for work outside the included scope.
Apply the same parking rules to gated and gateless options
Before choosing a gated or gateless system, write down the property’s rules for permitted stays, payment and exceptions. Ask how each proposed system records an unpaid or unauthorized stay and who handles it. A barrier-controlled site and a camera-led operation create different tasks for staff; choose the model your team can manage.
- Use the same tariffs, user groups and validation policy in demonstrations.
- Include assistance and manual correction.
- Compare the resulting access and financial records.
Treat a Parknet replacement as a migration project
If Parknet equipment is already installed, request a supported upgrade option as well as any Lexoh replacement proposal. Inventory terminals, barriers, controllers, subscriptions and transaction records. Specify export and reuse requirements without assuming that either system can import the other’s data or directly control its devices.
- Obtain exact model and software references.
- Identify unpaid balances and active permits or access rights.
- Approve a tested cutover and customer handover procedure.
Example demonstration: an expired monthly permit
Use an illustrative garage with monthly users and paid visitors. Give both suppliers the same test record: a monthly permit that expired yesterday, a driver arriving today and an operator authorized to correct the account. Agree the expected result before the demonstration.
- At entry, show the decision and the assistance available to the driver.
- Renew the permit through the approved process and show when the lane receives the change.
- Review the access event, payment record if applicable and identity of the operator who made the correction.
