An office access control system is a security platform that manages and restricts entry to your building and its internal areas — offices, server rooms, executive areas, parking, and more. Instead of keys, employees use electronic credentials (RFID card, smartphone, PIN, or biometric) to open doors. The system records every access event, allowing administrators to see who was where and when. Modern cloud-based office access control systems allow managers to add and remove employees instantly, set time-based access rules for different zones, and respond to security incidents remotely — from any device.

An emergency lockdown feature allows an authorized administrator to instantly lock all controlled doors in a building with a single command — preventing anyone from entering and typically locking all doors in a secure state until the lockdown is lifted. In Lexoh's system, the lockdown can be triggered from the cloud dashboard, the mobile app, or via an API call (enabling integration with fire alarm or security monitoring systems). All active sessions are suspended, all credentials are temporarily blocked, and push notifications are sent to all administrators. The lockdown can be lifted selectively (one zone at a time) or completely, with a full log of who triggered it and when.

Yes. Lexoh provides a REST API and pre-built connectors for major HRIS platforms including BambooHR, Workday, ADP, and others. When a new employee is onboarded in your HR system, their access credentials can be automatically provisioned based on their role and department — no separate manual setup in the access control system required. When an employee is terminated, their credentials are automatically revoked within minutes of the HR system update. This eliminates the security risk of former employees retaining active credentials due to manual process delays.

Anti-passback is a security feature that prevents the misuse of shared credentials. It works by tracking the last direction of travel for each credential (entered or exited). If a credential was used to enter, it cannot be used to enter again until it has been used to exit first. This prevents one employee from swiping in and then handing their card back to an unauthorized person waiting outside. Anti-passback is particularly important for high-security areas like server rooms, data centres, and executive suites where credential sharing is a significant security risk.
