Boat wash station

How a boat-wash station connects washing to launch access

A connected boat-wash station links a cleaning procedure to an access decision at the launch. The program owner defines the procedure; the equipment records the configured conditions and checks the resulting proof.

The decision

Four stages to specify

The visitor identifies the destination and follows the payment, membership or visitor path configured for the site. The station records the required wash condition, issues proof and sends the visitor toward a launch equipped to validate it.

Lexoh can connect compatible washing equipment, kiosks, proof delivery and launch controls. The precise sequence depends on the installed equipment and the local program.

Start with clear arrival instructions

Place the instructions before the visitor enters the wash area. Explain which boats and equipment the procedure covers, which destination to select and where to ask for help. Make space for a vehicle and trailer to wait without obstructing the wash or exit.

A membership may change the payment path. It does not automatically remove a washing requirement. State the local rule explicitly and configure the member workflow accordingly.

StageEquipment or ruleAcceptance check
1 · Arrival Destination and payment/member path Correct destination, visitor instructions and assistance
2 · Washing Selected washer and completion signal What is measured and what happens if washing stops early
3 · Proof issuance Configured printed or digital proof Validity, destination and recovery if delivery fails
4 · Launch validation Compatible reader, controller and barrier Accepted/refused proofs, trailer passage and return journey

Define what counts as completion

Depending on the selected equipment, a connected station can use a configured signal such as water volume or actual spray-gun operating time, rather than simply elapsed session time. Confirm the actual measurement, threshold and response to an interrupted wash.

That signal records a process condition. It does not establish that every surface was cleaned or that all organisms were removed. The cleaning instructions and any inspection responsibilities remain part of the prevention program. Quebec’s official guidance covers cleaning, draining and drying boats and associated equipment.

Issue proof the destination can check

Define the accepted launch, validity period and permitted uses. Choose printed or digital delivery around the visitors and equipment. Test the visitor’s actual route from the station to the reader.

Lexoh documents a special encrypted QR workflow that a compatible launch controller can validate locally. That capability concerns the configured proof check; it does not establish offline card payment or immediate reporting across disconnected sites.

Plan failed washes and refused proofs

An interrupted wash, empty printer, damaged ticket or expired proof needs a response that staff can explain. State who may issue a replacement, authorize an exception or attend the equipment.

During commissioning, test a complete visit, delivery failures and correctly refused proofs. Document power-loss behaviour separately from internet loss, including exit and manual operation. A visitor should receive clear instructions before arriving at a barrier that cannot accept the proof.

Questions

Practical questions

Can an existing pressure washer be connected?

Compatibility must be assessed for the exact washer model, documented control interface and available measurement signal. Provide those references to Lexoh and the installer. The proposal should identify the retained equipment, required additions and tests that establish the completion condition.

Does offline wash-proof validation mean every service works without internet?

No. A compatible controller may validate the specially configured encrypted QR locally. Payment, remote assistance, reporting and changes shared between sites have separate requirements. Ask for a demonstration of the complete proposed offline journey and its recovery when the connection returns.

Does wash proof certify that a boat is free of invasive species?

No. It records that the configured process condition was met. It is not a biological inspection or guarantee.

Can members skip the payment step?

A member workflow may provide that option. Whether washing is still required is a separate rule set by the program owner.
