Camera Management
The Camera Management interface provides comprehensive control over your facility's video surveillance system. The system is organized into three main tabs: Live for real-time monitoring, NVR for accessing recorded footage through your Network Video Recorder, and Events for reviewing camera-detected events. Access this functionality through Cameras in the main navigation. Each tab is visible based on your permissions.
Camera System Overview
The Camera Management system consists of three integrated tabs that work together to provide complete video surveillance capabilities:
- Live Monitoring: Multi-camera grid layouts (1, 4, 6, 8, 9, 12, 16, 25, 32, 36 cameras) with drag & drop assignment
- NVR Playback: Embedded NVR web interface with timeline navigation and date/time browsing
- Camera Events: AI-powered event detection with confidence scoring, summaries, tags, and associated entry linking
- Layout Flexibility: 10 grid configurations from single full-screen view to 6×6 layouts with custom spanning
- Pin & Auto-Rotate: Pin priority cameras to grid cells and auto-cycle through unpinned cells
- PTZ & Audio: Pan-tilt-zoom controls for PTZ cameras and per-camera volume control
Accessing the Camera Interface
Access the camera management system through the admin dashboard:
- Navigate to Cameras: Select "Cameras" from the main admin dashboard
- Permission Verification: The system automatically checks your camera permissions
- Tab Loading: Available tabs (Live, DVR, Events) load based on your access level
- Camera Discovery: System loads all cameras you have permission to view
Required Permissions: Camera viewing requires specific permissions in your user role. If you see "No camera access permissions", contact your system administrator for the appropriate camera viewing permissions.
Live Feed Tab
The Live tab provides real-time monitoring capabilities with multiple camera views displayed in customizable grid layouts. This is the primary interface for active surveillance and monitoring operations.
Grid Layout Options
Choose from 10 different grid configurations to optimize your monitoring setup:
Fullscreen single view
2×2 grid
3×3 grid
4×4 grid
6×6 grid
Custom layouts include spanning cameras (larger camera views) for priority monitoring areas.
Live Feed Controls
- Camera Sidebar: A list of all available cameras on the left side. Drag a camera from the list to a grid cell to assign it.
- Drag & Drop: Rearrange cameras by dragging them between grid cells
- Fullscreen: Click the fullscreen button on any camera cell to view it in fullscreen mode
- Pin Camera: Pin a camera to a grid cell so it stays when cycling through cameras
- Auto-Rotation: Automatically cycle through cameras in unpinned cells
NVR Playback Tab
The NVR tab embeds your Network Video Recorder (NVR) web interface directly within LEXOH for reviewing recorded footage. This provides full access to your NVR's capabilities without leaving the application.
NVR Features
- Embedded NVR Interface: Full NVR web interface embedded in the app for seamless access
- Browse Recordings: Browse and playback recorded video from any camera connected to your NVR
- Timeline Navigation: Jump to specific dates and times using the NVR's timeline controls
- Camera Selection: Choose individual cameras to review their recorded footage
- Playback Controls: Play, pause, fast forward, and rewind through recordings
- Export Functionality: Download recorded segments for evidence or reporting
NVR Access
NVR playback requires specific permissions:
- View NVR Permission: Required to access the NVR tab
- Camera-Specific Access: Users can only view recordings from cameras they have permission to view
- NVR Configuration: Your NVR must be configured and connected to LEXOH for this tab to function
Events Tab
The Events tab displays security incidents, motion detection alerts, and other automated camera-triggered events. Each event includes thumbnail images, confidence scores, and detailed metadata for security review and investigation.

Event Details
- Camera Name & Thumbnail: Source camera identification with visual preview of the event
- Label: What was detected (person, car, motion, etc.) with automatic categorization
- Confidence Score: AI-generated confidence level indicating detection accuracy
- Start/End Time: Precise timestamps of when the event began and ended
- AI Summary: An AI-generated description of the event (available in English and French)
- Tags: Associated tags for categorization and filtering
- Associated Entries: Links to related parking entries for cross-referencing
Event Actions & Filtering
- Search: Filter events by text across event data
- Camera Selection: Filter events by specific cameras using dropdown selection

Camera Controls & Layout Management
The camera interface provides comprehensive controls for managing camera layouts, views, and monitoring behavior. Controls adapt based on the selected tab and user permissions.
Layout Controls (Live Tab)
- Grid Selection: Dropdown with visual grid previews (1-36 cameras)
- Auto-Rotate Toggle: Enable/disable automatic camera cycling
- Sidebar Control: Show/hide camera selection list
- Camera Assignment: Drag cameras from list to grid positions
Mobile Interface Adaptations
The mobile interface reorganizes controls for touch optimization:
- Compact Tabs: Tab navigation optimized for mobile screens
- Touch-Friendly Controls: Larger buttons for camera layout selection
- Responsive Grids: Camera grids adapt to screen width automatically
- Swipe Navigation: Touch gestures for timeline scrubbing in DVR mode
Permission System
Camera access is controlled by a comprehensive permission system that determines which tabs are available and which cameras users can view. This ensures security compliance and privacy protection.
Required Permissions by Tab
canViewCameras permission canViewNvr permission (View NVR) canViewCameraEvents permission Camera-Specific Access
Individual cameras can be restricted based on:
- Zone Access: Users see only cameras in their authorized zones
- Camera Groups: Access to specific camera collections
- Time Restrictions: Some cameras may have time-based access limits
- Privacy Zones: Certain areas may be restricted for privacy compliance
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Camera Not Loading
- Check Network Connection: Verify camera IP addresses and network connectivity
- Browser Refresh: Reload the page or clear browser cache
- Permission Verification: Confirm you have access to the specific camera
- Device Status: Check camera status in Device Management
Poor Video Quality
- Bandwidth Limitations: Reduce number of simultaneous camera feeds
- Network Congestion: Check for high network usage during viewing times
- Camera Settings: Verify camera resolution and compression settings
